Elongated Mare Heart Earrings

Made with ancient Black Maire root, turned over in a paddock on our farm in the Pohangina Valley, these statement piece earrings have been handcrafted and shaped to form an elongated heart. If you love a big statement earring, these are for you!

To showcase the timber, the reverse side has been oiled and the top side has been finished with resin, allowing the grain of the maire to really pop. The maire meets a clear quartz bead before joining with the earring finding.

The Black Maire (Nestegis cunninghami) tree typically symbolises strength and is one of New Zealand’s hardest timber.
