Acrylic and copper leaf on board with resin
300x300mm
This piece is available, from an exhibition of work FOREST | FOR-REST Space Studio and Gallery, 2024.
I discovered recently that the Song Thrush is symbolic for communication and union, dedicating itself to just one mate.
In the pool of resin (very Jung...where you will also see your reflection as you gaze into the painting), the birds stand face to face, either side of a copper leaf messenger thread.
This layer of the story references our mirror - that in relationship, who we are will be mirrored and reflected back to us.
The Song Thrush sings no matter the circumstance and reminds us to look to nature to see beauty no matter what.
