Hand-Painted Maire Messenger Earrings - Ruru & Puriri Moth
Hand-Painted Maire Messenger Earrings - Ruru & Puriri Moth
These earrings featuring a Ruru (native New Zealand Morepork) and Puriri Moth, are hand-painted in acrylic onto reclaimed Maire timber (found in the Pohangina Valley), a beautiful, dense native hardwood known for its strength and beautiful grain. Each piece is then sealed in resin to enhance depth and durability, while the reverse is left natural and oiled, honouring the natural beauty of the timber.
Set with a copper strap and findings, these earrings carry both material and meaning drawn from the land, shaped by hand, and made to be worn as a statement and for companionship.
A perfectly mis-matched pair.
